SBC as a Service

A Session Border Controller is fundamental for any VoIP operator.

SBCs front the public side of your network, offering many services and reducing the load on your VoIP servers. Our SBC network is located across 3 distinct datacentres for optimum resiliency

Session Border Controller as a Service

The SBC Advantage

A session border control network secures your VoIP servers and allows them to operate in a more perfect world. But more than that, the SBCs provide a host of additional services, including SIP tracing and a webRTC gateway, that may well be invaluable to your business.

Session Border Controller - Functions & Features

Our SBC as a Service platform will reduce the load on your VoIP servers by handling the registration requests from public users. The SBC dictates the re-register timers for client side requests, usually 90 seconds, whilst reducing the number of requests on server side, usually 10 minutes.

Blocking unwanted requests is a key component of an SBC. Our security controls stop unwanted traffic at the front door to VoIP communications. We do this by inspecting SIP user agents, Geo IP controls, disabled client accounts, excessive bad requests, malformed SIP headers and many more control rules. SBCs are designed for security, VoIP servers are not.

Our SBC network allows you to configure two routes for your traffic. These can be used as load balanced servers, or can act as a failover route should one become unavailable.

WebRTC allows browser based applications to utilize VoIP communications However, implementing WebRTC onto an existing VoIP server come with many costs, including massive processing overhead, difficulty of maintainance, and challenging DTLS and SRTP off-load. Our SBC WebRTC gateway takes this pain away by terminating the WebRTC traffic on client side and only passing normal standard SIP traffic on server side. All DTLS, TLS, SRTP and Opus codec handling is performed on the SBC.

By using our network you will benefit from a web based reporting tool allowing you to view call records.

Use our web based SIP tracing tool to quickly troubleshoot any VoIP issue including packet loss and jitter statistics.

Protect your internal VoIP network by using the SBC to rewrite SIP headers replacing IP addressing.

Limit the number of parallel calls per client.

Configure settings per client using the intuitive web interface.

Avoid firewall and NAT issues for RTP.

Offload TLS, DTLS and SRTP onto our SBC network.

Route traffic according to weight, or strictly as a failover solution to multiple VoIP servers.
